Privacy policy
Effective November 1, 2026
This policy explains what information SAM ("SAM", "we", "us"), operated by Rasham Coleman, collects when you use the SAM website and app, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Searches. The product names you search for, so we can find prices and improve results.
- ZIP code. If you enter one, we use it to estimate sales tax and delivery dates. It is saved in your own browser so you don't have to re-enter it. We may pass it to store data partners (for example, eBay) to get accurate shipping estimates. We do not combine it with your name.
- Watchlist and price reports. Products you choose to watch, your target prices, and any "price was wrong" reports you send.
- Visitor counts. We use GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly analytics service, to count page views. It does not use cookies or collect personal information.
- Early-access emails. If you email us to join early access, we keep your email address only to send your invite and SAM updates. Ask us anytime and we'll delete it.
- Basic technical data. Like most websites, our servers may log your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request, for security and to keep the service working.
You do not need an account to search. We do not ask for your name, payment details, or exact address.
Product and price data
SAM saves the prices it checks (store, product, price, shipping, and time checked) to show price history and detect unreliable prices. This is information about products, not about you. We keep it only as long as our agreements with data providers allow.
Store links and cookies
When you click a link to a store, you leave SAM. The store or an affiliate network (such as CJ, Impact, Awin, eBay Partner Network, or similar) may set cookies to record that you came from SAM, so we can earn a commission. Those companies' own privacy policies govern what they collect. SAM itself does not use advertising cookies.
How we use information
- To show prices, totals, tax estimates, and delivery dates.
- To run your watchlist and price alerts.
- To detect fake or wrong prices and score store reliability.
- To keep the service secure and fix problems.
What we don't do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-site advertising. Stores cannot pay to change SAM's rankings.
Your choices
- You can use SAM without entering a ZIP code; prices will show without tax.
- You can clear your saved ZIP code and preferences by clearing your browser's site data.
- You can ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing us.
Children
SAM is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect information, but no online service is perfectly secure.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date above, and for significant changes we'll post a notice on the site.
